Founder and director, Jade Hewat, has taken his love high performance boats to another level by moving into niche plate-boat building in East Gippsland. Developed in collaboration with a well-respected New Zealand naval architect and subject to many trials, the Archer 550 is ready for market launch. Designed for superior performance on inland waters but particularly for offshore – the boat appeals to serious fishing and boating enthusiasts.
The Archer 550 comes in three different configurations – caddy cab, centre console and side console. A slightly larger version is in the pipeline. Because of its structural design, technology, and strong build the vessel can handle rough waters comfortably without having the jolting hitting feeling of most aluminium vessels. The boat moves through the water with a bow-up attitude giving an easy and confident ride while also staying dry. The design also contributes to great stability at rest.
With a strong combination of internal and supply chain partner capabilities and a focus on high quality, Hewat’s Marine is ready to take orders for the Archer 550 as well as respond to the specific needs of commercial customers looking to construct small plate boats through their tender processes.
